What will happen during our photo shoot?
I want our photo session to be fun and stress-free. We will just hang out at our location, explore and take photos along the way. I will create a variety of images and different poses. I use a portable studio flash and an assistant to help with lighting. I'll bring my bag of tricks to get your dogs attention and to keep them motivated. Once your session is booked, I can provide more information as to what is expected during the shoot and how you can prepare. Take a look at the Behind the Scenes Page.
What if my dog is high energy?
That's fine! I want to capture your dogs personality just the way it is. They won't be expected to sit still or look at the camera for every shot. We will capture many candid photos. I keep all dogs on a leash during our session. This will help to keep them in one place. After our session, I will remove the leash in Photoshop. I also have lots of tricks to get their attention. If your dog is high energy, you may want to take them on a walk or let them play beforehand. Just don't tire them out too much.
What if my dog can't be off leash?
Don't worry. Most dogs in my photos are on leash. I actually prefer dogs to be on a leash for their safety. After the session, I will remove it from the images with Photoshop. You'll never be able to tell they were on a leash. Collars and harnesses will not be removed. Check the Behind the Scenes page for more photos.
What if my dog is shy/nervous?
We will take our time to make sure your dog is completely comfortable. You might want to get to the location early to let your dog explore and sniff around. I will spend extra time with them to make sure they are comfortable with me and my equipment. I am very patient and flexible. We can also use a lot of positive reinforcement with treats. I want to make sure your dog looks happy and confident in their photos. Another idea might be to bring another person whom your dog trusts and is familiar with.
What if my dog isn't well trained?
Please don't worry about your dogs behavior. I've worked with all kinds of dogs at all levels. Your dog won't be expected to behave a certain way. I have many tricks I will use to get their attention for the perfect photo. They won't be required to sit and stay for every photo. I will take a lot of candid shots of them just exploring and having fun. If you have some time before our session, try working on sit, lay down and stay training. Be sure to reward with lots of treats. I have a lot of experience with training and I'd be happy to share any tips.
Do you only photograph dogs?
My experience and main focus is currently only on dogs but if you have a different animal that you're able to bring to an outdoor location, I can consider it.

Can I be in the photos with my dog?
My main focus will be on your dog but I will certainly capture a couple of images showing your special bond if requested. If you are looking for family portraits, I highly recommend finding a photographer who specializes in this.
What is your cancellation policy? What if the weather isn't great?
I understand that unexpected things happen and we may need to reschedule. If it's raining, too hot, too cold, or any other unforeseen circumstances, we may need to consider scheduling a new date. Although, we don't need a perfect, sunny day for photos. Don't worry if we don't have a suny day. Cloudy days make for great photos too.
Can I print my own photos?
I want to make sure your photos are printed perfectly and if you print these on your own I can't guarantee this. I print at high quality print labs to produce great quality prints that are accurately colored. If interested, I can sell the high resolution file with a print release if you choose to do this.
Is there a minimum requirement on purchasing products?
Most clients choose to invest at least $500 in creating their artwork but there are no minimum purchase requirements. I will help you stay within your budget.
Do you offer payment plans?
I do offer no-interest payment plans for your product order. I understand that budgets may vary, but you shouldn't have to miss out on the opportunity to photograph your pet and create beautiful artwork.

Can I just order digitals?
Dogs make beautiful artwork that you can display proudly in your home. I believe that our dogs deserve better than digital images that get lost and forgotten on our phones, computers and social media. I hope to create memories for you that you can remember forever. You can choose from an assortment of wall art, photo albums, frames, etc. If you'd like to share your images on social media, I offer web-sized watermarked digital images with each product purchase. We will work together to find what fits perfectly in your home. This is an investment that will make you smile daily.
